Alright folks here’s my weekly coupon summary. Just so you know how I am doing this:
First off I have to say I had a lot of help from Fabulessly Frugal, their website was a big help while I was doing this. Secondly, I only highlighted deals I felt were particularly good or I had a coupon for. I don’t have very many coupons yet 🙂
Your first step – go print your coupons if you want. You may be interested in different items than I would be, so there might be something I missed. You can print them at Coupons.com, Smartsource, and RedPlum. If you still have your Sunday paper around, check it out and cut out any coupons for items you would normally buy.
Frozen or steaming vegetables, 12-16oz size – 10 for $10
Traditional Medicinals teas $4.49 (no coupon here but that’s a decent price for an awesome product)
McCann’s Oatmeal $5.99 28oz can ($1.00 printable, oop $4.99)
Goldfish crackers $.88 (Fri-Mon) (OK yeah it’s in a box but my kids LOVE them)
Johnsonville Breakfast sausage $3.49 ($.55 printable, oop $2.94)
Bayer Aspirin $5.99 ($1.50 printable, oop $4.49)
Garnier Fructis $4.99 + $1.00 off printable, oop $3.99
Target Coupon Deals
Airborne – Retail price unknown, but Target coupon for $1.50 off 8-ct or larger, plus $1.50 printable.
Suave Lotion – 18oz+ $.75 off + $.50 printable
Multigrain Cheerios – $.75 off + $1.00/2 Printable
Original Cheerios – $.55 off + $1.00/2 printable
Listerine Smart Rinse/Cool Blue -$1.00 off + 1.00 printable
Listerine Whitening, Total Care, Total Care Plus Whitening, Zero – $1.00 off + $1.00 printable
And that’s it! So here’s the verdict – business as normal this week 🙂 None of these deals are wonderful enough to tempt me to haul my two youngins into the store. One of my personal opportunity costs is that I can’t go into Target without getting a popcorn for the kids – it’s kinda our “thing” but makes it so I couldn’t just hop in for a few things. Not that I’d want to with the girls anyway.
I will, however, be bringing my coupons to Winco and see what they have for them. Or maybe just the list for this next week.
I can see, however, that deals really can be made once you have enough of the right type of coupons. I’m just going to be very selective on which coupons I keep on hand because if I get too many then I forget which ones I have. Yes, I made a spreadsheet, but it takes too much time to cross reference each item to see if I have that coupon, so it’s kinda nice to have so few coupons that you know immediately if there’s a coupon or not.
And now I shall attempt to survive the day while being sick thanks to my hubby’s co-worker who just HAD to come in when he was sick. First hubby was sick, now I am sick and my kids are getting sick too. I have a couple cooked chickens I need to de-meat and freeze & then make stock from… so I think I shall be having chicken soup today.
